"Transaciones - An On-Line Dictionary" is an artistic research on aspects of communication between cultures andlanguages in the valley of Sibundoy, Colombia. Transaciones is a word that doesn't really exist - and if it existed, it would be wrongly spelled. With this spirit we approach the concepts of translation, transaction and transmission.

Juan Recamán (Bogotá/New York) and Gun Holmström (Helsinki/Berlin) met at a residency at the ACA in Florida 2003 where they worked together with master artist Gillian Wearing and a group of international video artists. The residency has triggered many professional dialogues and international art collaborations. In the beginning of 2009 they traveled to Sibundoy Valley in Colombia to initialize the community art project “Transaciones – An On-Line Dictionary”.
